Brian Acton, Co-Founder of WhatsApp to Leave Company for His Own Foundation

The co-founder of WhatsApp, Brian Acton, set to leave Facebook-owned company, WhatsApp, to start his nonprofit foundation.

Eight years ago, Brian Acton and CEO Jan Koum launched WhatsApp but yesterday, Acton announced his departure in a Facebook post on the 12th of September, 2017.

The post reads:

"I have decided to move on and start a new chapter in my life. A non-profit focused at the intersection of nonprofit, technology and communications. "It's something I've thought about for a while, and now it's time to just focus and execute. "I'll have more to share in the coming months."

According to ventureBest's source, he will leave the company officially in November.
