Facebook now alert users if they are spotted in someone else’s photo

This is another best way for users to manage their identity on social network as Facebook has introduced a new feature that issue notifications whenever your photo shows up in another person’s photo.

If you enable this feature and you are spotted in another person’s photo even if you are not tagged in the photo, Facebook will notify you.

Facebook also revealed that the functionalities uses the same face recognition technology that currently used to suggest friends you may want to tag in photos.

The company also revealed that they will soon roll out another feature that will notify you if someone is trying to impersonate you in Facebook by using your photo as their profile display picture.

However, this feature will be available in all countries except Canada and EU, where Facebook doesn’t offer face recognition technology.

Facebook Now Introduced Click-to-WhatsApp Button Feature

A new feature is available on Facebook and it's called click-to-WhatsApp button . The button will let advertisers connect with over one billion WhatsApp users.

Facebook confirmed that it is rolling out the 'Click-to-WhatsApp' feature slowly, beginning with North and South America, Africa, Australia and most of Asia. But notable exception is Europe probably because of issues WhatsApp has with EU regulators over data sharing with Facebook.

This new Facebook feature is similar to the click-to-Messenger button that Facebook introduced in its ads in November last year. The click-to-Messenger ads debuted on Instagram in May this year.

According to Facebook;

"Many people already use WhatsApp to communicate with small businesses. It's a fast, convenient way to stay in touch,"

Pancham Gajjar, Product Marketing Manager, Facebook, was quoted saying.

"By adding a click-to-WhatsApp button to Facebook ads, businesses can now make it even easier for people to learn about their products, set up an appointment or use their service,"

he added.

Facebook revealed that over a million Pages currently include WhatsApp numbers in their posts. Facebook has over 2 billion users already and counting.

HOW FACEBOOK CLICK-TO-WHATSAPP BUTTON FEATURE WORKS

Businesses or companies that have WhatsApp numbers can add ' send message ' buttons with the WhatsApp logo to their Facebook ads and those ads will only be accessible to users who have WhatsApp installed on their smartphones.

To commence conversations, you must add the business' WhatsApp numbers to your contacts.
After you have done this, the messaging app opens with a default message expressing interest, which can be edited by users before being sent.

Private Replies And PiP Features Coming Soon In The Latest WhatsApp

Bigup to WhatsApp has they are seriously working hard to release timely updates that makes the platform more user friendly and easy to use. In 2017, we saw a lot of new features added and there is no sign it's stopping anytime soon. 

Now, another update is coming to WhatsApp Web/desktop version that will allow you reply to a group message privately and also use the PiP features.

According to Wabetainfo, this update will be available for WhatsApp Web/Desktop version soon. At the moment, it's undergoing development. It's expected that users of the web version will see this new feature in the near future, hopefully in 2018.

UPCOMING WHATSAPP WEB FEATURES

Private Replies: This feature allows you reply to messages sent on groups privately.
There will be a new option called

“Reply privately”: when selected, WhatsApp will automatically open the chat with the contact to send a message. The sent message will quote the group message.



Picture in Picture Feature(PIP): The new update, when rolled out, will allow you to watch sent and received videos in a new separated window: this is called the PiP feature!

A new icon will be available when you’re watching the video:
When the user selects this option, the picture in picture will be started with the selected video, presenting a new window with a very nice UI.

Instagram Set To Release It Messaging App Called “Direct”

If  you are an avid or frequent Instagram user, you would notice the messaging feature called “ Direct“, the app is currently on testing though.

Messenger app was separated from the main Facebook which made a lot of people to complain but this time, Instagram is considering the same thing. In fact, the Instagram messaging inbox called “Direct” is currently on testing. 

The app replaces Instagram messaging inbox and build an experience around it. For now, the app is available to few countries and would be available to everyone soon.

Direct opens to the camera, but you can swipe over to the messaging inbox. The camera interface in Direct comes with four excellent photo and video filters (not found in main Instagram app). 

Users will decide how much they want those filters and installing of Direct app, means the main Instagram messaging disappears form the main app.

Splitting an app functionality is not cool. We hope the Direct app gets better like that of Facebook Messenger.
However, Chile, Uruguay, Italy, Israel, Turkey and Portugal can download the Direct app on iOS and Android.
